It's better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6
In June, 2011 Governor Corbett signed Pennsylvania Castle Doctrine into law.
This measure permits law-abiding citizens to use force, including deadly force, against an attacker in their home and any place where they have a legal right to be. It also protects individuals from civil suits by an attacker when force is used. It's provisions are complicated and will no doubt be restricted by the Courts. Self-Defense has always been the right of Pennsylvanians, but is limited to a jury's determination of the reasonableness of force used in response to a perceived threat. It is imperative to engage experienced defense counsel to make each and every juror understand and empathize with the terror and necessity of the actions for which one stands trial.
